Pochettino compares Kane to legend Batistuta

Cape Town - Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has compared Harry Kane to Argentinian striking legend Gabriel Batistuta.

Kane scored a brace in Saturday’s 3-0 win over Everton, getting him off the mark this season having been the Premier League’s top scorer in the past two campaigns.

"Batistuta was a killer," Pochettino said. "Very strong mentality; very strong shot, great professional. You can compare.

"But Harry can be better. He is a killer, Harry Kane. Look at the goals he scored the last years. Maybe they have different characteristics but I think he is in that level, with Batistuta."

Meanwhile Pochettino paid further tribute to Kane after he reached 100 goals for his club in their impressive victory against Everton.

"I'm happy because he has scored his 100th goal for Tottenham and he deserves a lot of prizes and congratulations for that. It's an unbelievable mark for him."

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
