2018-11-26 12:29

Cape Town - Former Manchester United goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar enjoyed climbing Table Mountain while on a recent trip to Cape Town.

In his new role as CEO of Ajax Amsterdam, the 48-year-old spent a few days in the Mother City helping sister club Ajax Cape Town open their new Lambda institute for talented Urban Warrior players to combine their football education with academic skills.

During his visit, the four-time Premier League winner took the opportunity to climb Cape Town's famous Table Mountain and shared the experience on Twitter.

Van der Sar also also went to the township of Langa to meet some of the Ajax academy players' parents and guardians.
