'Phenomenal' Leicester deserving champions

Madrid - Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane hailed Leicester City's remarkable Premier League triumph as a deserving reward for "phenomenal" work done by coach Claudio Ranieri on Tuesday.

"Miracles don't exist in football. They have had a phenomenal season, Ranieri has done a phenomenal job," the Frenchman said ahead of Madrid's Champions League semi-final, second leg against Manchester City.

Abu Dhabi-backed City were one of the Premier League's elite left embarrassed as 5,000-1 longshots Leicester sealed the first title in their 132-year history after Tottenham Hotspur could only manage a 2-2 draw at Chelsea on Monday.

"I am happy for him and the players. It is the first time they are champions," added Zidane.

"It is admirable what they have done. There are no miracles, so it is deserved what they have done."
