Pedro reveals Barcelona talks

Cape Town - Chelsea forward Pedro admits he has held preliminary talks with Barcelona over a potential return to the Nou Camp after just one season with the Blues.

The winger moved to Stamford Bridge just 12 months ago for £22m, but he has made no secret about his desire to return to Barca after a difficult campaign in England in which Chelsea finished way down in 10th position in the Premier League and will miss out on any kind of continental competition next term.

When asked if he was planning a return to Barcelona, he told beIN Sports: "Hopefully, but I know it's hard.

"I have already spoken about it with the president when we (Barcelona) were in the (Copa del Rey) final and spoke to all the people who want me there.

"It's complicated, but I've always said that I would like to retire at Barcelona.

"However, I know it's difficult because the years go by and the club has the best players in the world, it is a very demanding club and to return is complicated. But I do not rule it out either.

"I had been 11 or 12 years in Barcelona, my family is from there and also many friends. The fans loved me, I felt very valued around the club, and it's always hard to leave the club of your dreams.

"But I have explained before in the end I had to take this decision because I saw that the possibilities (of playing) were low."

Pedro has three years remaining on his deal with Chelsea and the Premier League side would likely expect a fairly hefty fee for the playmaker, which leaves the decision down to the higher ups at Barcelona and how much they are willing to pay to have the 28-year-old back.
