Cape Town - Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain compared Arsenal team-mate Alexis Sanchez to Sergio Aguero after the Chilean's hat-trick against West Ham United.
The Gunners forward said Sanchez had pace behind defenses reminiscent of the Manchester City star.
"Alexis Sanchez was brilliant, he gives you that speed in behind opposing defences,” Oxlade-Chamberlain said. “He’s like Sergio Aguero in many ways."
“You get balls up to him and he can just make things happen. He’s an amazing player and it’s great to have in the team."
Arsenal's outing against West Ham on Saturday ended with a 5-1 victory to the visitors.
Arsenal scored first through Mesut Ozil before Sanchez got his first after half-time.
The Chilean scored his second before Andy Carroll made it 3-1, but Oxlade-Chamberlain restored the three-goal lead before Sanchez completed his hat-trick.
“We are good on the counter-attack and Mesut Ozil and Alexis are the first to turn and go in behind,” Oxlade-Chamberlain said.
He said their form needed to be maintained.
“We just need to keep winning games,” he said.
“We're Arsenal Football Club. If people don’t expect us to be there or thereabouts [in the title race], it’s a bit disrespectful."
“You never know what’s going to happen. We need to keep this going."
Sanchez has scored 11 and made four assists in the Premier League this season, while Saturday’s win left Arsenal three points behind leaders Chelsea 14 games into the season.
The Gunners play their last Champions League group game against Basel at the St. Jakob-Park on Tuesday night.
Kick off is scheduled for 21:45.
