Osman expects January arrivals

Cape Town -  Former Everton midfielder Leon Osman believes the club is still in a period of transition under manager Ronald Koeman and believes the club will bring in some new faces in January.

The Toffees have already signed Ademola Lookman from Charlton this month and it is being widely reported they will complete the signing of Manchester United midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin, for a fee believe to be in the region of £22 million in the next few days.

This is on top of the eight players he signed in the pre-season transfer window and Osman is optimistic about the direction Koeman is taking the club.

"A lot of people use the word transition and I would use that word to describe where Everton are at the moment," he told Premier League Daily.

"They're transitioning from a Roberto Martinez-style team and the way he sets them up into what Ronald Koeman wants.

"I believe Ronald Koeman still expects his team to keep kicking on and that he's not happy with all of the players he has got at the club.

"He's still making signings, it looks like he'll be bringing in Morgan Schneiderlin, and he's still trying to mould the team as his own.

"They're still seventh with 30 points amid that transition so it's difficult to judge how they are performing and you can only really judge a new manager in their second season."

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
