Nolito seeking a move away from City

Cape Town - Nolito is expected to complete a move away from Manchester City for next season after saying he wants to leave the Premier League club.

The 30-year-old is eager to secure his place in the Spanish national side for the 2018 World Cup, and needs to be playing more in order to achieve this.

The striker played 19 times for City in the league this season scoring four goals, although he started only nine games, while he did play 30 games in total in all competitions.

The former Barcelona and Celta man, who is expected to go out on loan to one of Sevilla, Atletico Madrid, Real Betis or Celta, also bemoaned the poor weather in England and his inability to better learn the language.

He told Onda Cero: "I have learnt very, very little English – it's very hard. Just 'tomorrow', 'good morning', 'good afternoon' and a little more.

"My daughter's face has changed colour – it looks like she's been living in a cave."

He added: "I am under the contract, so the club will decide, but I want to leave.

"I don't think City are counting on me much considering the minutes I've played since January.

"I haven't played in six months. I'm not angry with [Pep] Guardiola and he doesn't have to have reasons to be angry with me, either. It simply hasn't gone well.

"Now I will do everything possible to make Spain's World Cup squad."
