Cape Town - Manchester City winger Nolito has confirmed he wants to leave the Etihad - just 12 months after a big-money move to the Premier League.
Nolito made a £14million switch from Celta Vigo to join City last summer and was initially a regular under Pep Guardiola.
But the 30-year-old started just once during the second half of the season and is now looking to return to La Liga, with a return to Celta likely to be one of the options available.
“I’d like to leave, whether that be on loan or permanently,” he told Marca.
“I know about Atletico, Celta. These are things for my representatives.
“I’m calm and on holiday at the moment, but I’m thinking about returning to Spain.
“Until December I was playing and happy, but during these four months, I’ve played practically no games.
“My exile? I don’t know the reason why, you’ll have to ask Pep Guardiola. It’s been a year to forget, an experience that hasn’t gone as I expected,
“Still, we must continue and see if a solution can be found in the summer.”
The Spaniard will likely see his game-time diminish even further after City spent £43million to snap up attacking midfielder Bernardo Silva from Monaco.
