Cape Town - Manchester
United boss Jose Mourinho praised Victor Lindelof for his agility which
has allowed the defender to adapt to playing in a back-three.
The off-season signing from Benfica initially struggled in defence for United and had to wait until October 14 to make his Premier League debut after coming on as a late substitute in the goalless draw at Liverpool.
Lindelof had previously only featured in the UEFA Champions League and EFL Cup for Mourinho's side up until that point, although injuries in defence saw him start the last three league games.
The Sweden international put in a good performance at Vicarage Road on Tuesday as the Red Devils beat Watford 4-2 to record their third win on the spin.
Mourinho was impressed with how Lindelof coped against the tricky Richarlison, who registered five goals and three assists in 13 top-flight outings for the Hornets prior to the visit of the Red Devils.
"I think Richarlison is a very good player and a difficult player to play against but Victor is very fast," the Portuguese coach told MUTV.
"He has adapted to play centrally but also to go to the sides because he's got the agility that many of the central defenders don't have. I think it was another very positive performance by Victor."
