Monreal's Arsenal future to be decided soon

Cape Town - Arsenal manager Unai Emery is expected to make a decision on the future of full-back Nacho Monreal ahead of the north London derby.

The Spanish left-back is the subject of a £3million bid from Real Sociedad.

With the European transfer window set to close on Monday, Emery will want to decide whether he will allow him to leave before the weekend, to allow the squad to be settled before they face Spurs, reports the Mail Online.

The 33-year-old Spain star has made 250 appearances for the north London outfit since arriving from Malaga in January 2013 and he has started all three of the club's Premier League games this season.

However, Monreal's contract at the Emirates expires next summer and with Arsenal signing Kieran Tierney from Celtic earlier this month, it would appear that the veteran star's time in the Premier League is coming to an end.

After the defeat at Liverpool, The Arsenal manager gave an update on the players that could leave before end of the transfer window.

He said: "Some players can leave but we cannot sign another and it depends a little over the next days how we can decide about some circumstances with some players.

"With Nacho one possibility is open and we are going to speak about that."
