Borussia Monchengladbach forward Alassane Plea is reportedly a transfer target for Manchester United as they aim to bolster their ranks in the off-season.
The Red Devils have been linked with some high-profile attacking signings, with a deal for Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho said to be close and Tottenham frontman Harry Kane also eyed.
With Marcus Rashford being troubled by injuries and Anthony Martial emerging as a target for Inter Milan, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is looking for more goals ahead of the new campaign.
And German outlet Express.de, (via the Daily Star) reports that United have now turned their interest to Plea.
The report states that the former Nice forward is "among a group of strikers to be examined" for the 2020/21 campaign.
In two seasons with the Bundesliga side, the Frenchman has 23 goals in 59 appearances, heading to Germany after an impressive season with Nice where he scored 21 goals in one campaign.
However, United are expected to face major competition for the 27-year-old, with Tottenham already said to have bid £23 million to land the player.
Spurs are not said to view Plea as a replacement for Kane, as they are confident of keeping the England skipper, and want the forward as a back-up option in north London.
But United's lack of a true No.9 could give Plea more opportunities to shine at Old Trafford if Solskjaer decides that the forward is up to cutting it in the Premier League.
