Cape Town - Arsenal on Monday reached an agreement with Serie A side Roma to sign midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan on loan with the player believed to be travelling to Italy to complete the deal.
According to reports in Italy, the Italian side will pay a loan fee and cover all of the Armenian's wages with no buy option included in the deal.
The midfielder featured for Arsenal as a second-half substitute in Sunday's 2-2 north London derby draw with Tottenham Hotspur, but is now set to finalise his exit.
Mkhitaryan joined the Gunners from Manchester United in January 2018 in a swap deal that saw Alexis Sanchez move in the opposite direction.
The former Borussia Dortmund player made 56 appearances for the London-based side scoring 9 goals while Sanchez scored five goals in 45 appearances for Man United.
