Cape Town - Liverpool vice-captain James Milner has praised the 'incredible' contribution Andy Robertson has made since joining the club.
Robertson signed for the Reds from Hull for a bargain fee of £8million two years ago and initially struggled to break into the team, with Milner operating as an emergency left-back.
However, he managed to work his way into the starting XI and last season showcased his talents, grabbing 13 assists in 48 matches.
Milner says that Robertson’s contribution has been brilliant, not just on the pitch but off it too.
"I think how good Robbo has been since he’s been at the club has been incredible really," the midfielder told the European Tour’s website.
"The fans love him.
"I think it started with that 90-yard press of Man City – he pressed everyone in their team I think, went to the ‘keeper and then did them all again! ‘He’s got great quality and [is a] good defender.
"He’s good around the dressing room as well, he’s good craic.
"That’s the one thing we’ve got as a team, we’ve got a great team spirit.
"You need lads like Robbo."
