Milan's Niang completes Watford loan move

Milan - AC Milan forward M’Baye Niang has completed a loan move to Premier League Watford until the end of the season.

Niang became the second youngest goalscorer in Milan’s history when the then 17-year-old found the net in 2012.

But the France Under-21 international has scored just 11 more times in a Milan shirt and has been sent out on loan to both Montpellier and Genoa.

The 22-year-old will hope for better fortune at Watford after joining on loan until the summer, with an option to move to Vicarage Road on a permanent basis.

"I'm very happy to come here," he said. "For me, the manager [Walter Mazzari] is a very, very important in my choice.

"I know players who play here - Stefano Okaka and Roberto Pereyra. For me they're very good players and I'm excited to play with them."

Niang becomes Watford’s third summer signing after the Hornets completed deals for Mauro Zarate and Tom Cleverley.

The Frenchman will be hoping to be involved when Watford travel to The Den to face Millwall in a fourth round FA Cup clash on Sunday.

Kick off is at 14:00.
