Milan keeping tabs on Liverpool's Lovren

Cape Town - AC Milan have been tipped to make a move for Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren as they look to rebuild their squad in the off-season.

The Serie A giants are currently undertaking a huge rebuild that has already seen coach Gennaro Gattuso axed while they also appointed Frederic Massara as their new sporting director.

Reports claim that Massara will now push on with the recruitment of new players and Reds centre-back Lovren is high on their wanted list as they look to bolster the heart of their defence.

The link has come from respected Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, who claims the Rossoneri see the Croatian international as a pivotal squad player who would not expect to play every game.

That was certainly the case for Lovren this season as he made just 13 Premier League appearances for the Reds and three in the Champions League as Jurgen Klopp's men lifted their sixth European Cup.

The player could be open to a fresh challenge in Milan, while Klopp could also consider selling if a suitable replacement can be found first.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
