Mikhi eager to link up with 'assist king' Ozil

Cape Town - Latest Arsenal signing Henrikh Mkhitaryan is excited by the prospect of playing alongside influential play-maker Mesut Ozil this season.

Mkhitaryan completed his transfer from Premier League rivals Manchester United on Monday, but couldn't participate in Arsenal's Carabao Cup semi-final victory over Chelsea on Wednesday, as he had already appeared in the competition with United.

However, the 29-year-old Armenian observed from the stands as the Gunners beat Chelsea 2-1 and is now eagerly awaiting his chance to play his first game for Arsene Wenger's side and link up with their star play-maker Ozil.

He told Arsenal Player: "Here at Arsenal I know that lots of players move a lot and it’s incredible the way [the team] plays. I will do my best to assist them as well.

"I think it will be really fun to play alongside Ozil. Everyone knows he’s a fantastic player, he’s an assist king! I look forward to it.

"[I admire] his intelligence, the way that he can understand the game, reads the game, plus the way he gives pace to the game and of course his final decision."
