Mane: Liverpool is not a team of chokers

Cape Town - Liverpool forward Sadio Mane has warned Manchester City that the Merseysiders are "not a team of chokers", as the battle for the Premier League title intensifies.

The Citizens reignited the title battle after recording a 2-1 victory over the Reds at the Etihad on 3 January, with that result reducing the gap between the Premier League's top two sides to just four points.

This after Jurgen Klopp's men forged a 10-point lead over City with a 5-1 triumph over Arsenal at the end of December.

However, Mane is confident the Reds will be able to hold their nerve and claim the big prize come the end of the campaign.

"This is not a team of chokers," Mane is quoted as saying by The Sun. "We will be champions.

"I am sure we will be champions of England. When I wake up, I don't go to the training ground thinking we will not win.

"We are determined to show we are the best team in the league."

Liverpool play host to Crystal Palace and Leicester City in their next two fixtures, before travelling to West Ham United on February 4.

Manchester City, meanwhile, will play four games in the space of nine days, starting with a trip to manager-less Huddersfield Town on Sunday.
