Cape Town - Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola remains interested in Juventus defender Joao Cancelo and has reportedly instructed his club to reopen negotiations with the Italian champions.
The Citizens were heavily linked with the right-back earlier in the off-season but talks cooled after the two clubs failed to agree a valuation.
Guardiola wants to bring in some extra competition for Kyle Walker and has reportedly told the club to enter back into negotiations.
Juventus are demanding €60 million but City were reluctant to part with that kind of fee after already committing big money to bring in Rodri this summer.
City are hoping to offload Danilo before moving for the 25-year-old Cancelo although that has also proved troubling, with a lack of interest in the Brazilian.
Reports in Italy claim City have made contact with Juventus this week and talks are set to resume in the coming days.
