Cape Town - Out of favour Manchester United defender, Chris Smalling is on the brink of sealing a loan move to Serie A side AS Roma for the 2019/20 season.
According to reports in Italy, the two clubs have come to an agreement that will see the player go out on loan to the Serie A with Manchester United receiving a €3 million fee.
There is no option to buy clause in the deal with Smalling accepting the move and agreeing to personal terms with Roma.
The England international has fallen down the pecking order since the arrival of Harry Maguire and has failed to make the match-day squad of any of Manchester United's opening three fixtures.
Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is undergoing a revamp of his playing squad that has already seen unfavoured duo Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez complete moves to Inter Milan.
