Man United set to sign unknown Porto defender

Cape Town - Manchester United are set to sign highly-rated FC Porto right-back Diogo Dalot on a five-year deal after activating the player's buy-out clause.

Jose Mourinho looks set to make his first signing of the transfer window by signing the relatively unknown 19-year-old Dalot after activating the player's €20 million buy-out clause.

The transfer is to be announced soon with the player having already agreed personal terms that will see Italian Matteo Darmian leave Old Trafford in a €15 million deal to Juventus.

José Diogo Dalot Teixeira, known as Dalot was in October voted as Porto's Young Player of the Year and is rated as one of the best young talents in world football.

United have also been strongly linked to Brazilian Fred and Belgium's Toby Alderweireld and want to complete both signings before the start of the 2018 Soccer World Cup.
