Cape Town - Manchester United are set to complete the club's first signing of the transfer window with young Swansea City winger Daniel James undergoing a medical.
The young Welsh international arrived at United's Carrington training facility for his medical on Thursday morning and is set to seal a deal later today.
James will complete a reported £15 million deal with add-ons and becomes Ole Gunnar Solksjaer's first signing after being named as permanent manager.
Solskjaer is keen on signing youthful, home-grown players and with Ander Herrera's departure and Juan Mata’s future far from assured he will need to add at least two midfield players.
James had a stellar campaign for Swansea, scoring four goals and adding nine assists in 33 Championship appearances.
The Manchester Evening News reported previously that James had agreed personal terms ahead of a move, while they claim that United also hold interest in Crystal Palace star Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
