Man United pull out of Christian Eriksen talks

Cape Town - Manchester United have reportedly pulled out of negotiations to sign Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen from Tottenham Hotspur after holding initial talks of a potential transfer.

After failing to reach an agreement for the transfer of Paulo Dybala from Juventus, Tottenham encouraged a reduced bid for Eriksen who is in the final year of his contract at the club.

A figure believed to be around £50 million was mooted as an acceptable amount to clinch a transfer before Thursday's deadline.

According to BBC journalist, Simon Stone, after undergoing initial talks Man United have now put an end to any further discussions as they firmly believe that the player is set on a move to Real Madrid.

It is also believed that Spurs were encouraged by the Spanish giants to seal a deal with United as it would make the potential transfer of Paul Pogba to Madrid easier.

Man United executive vice-chairperson Ed Woodward has possibly identified the underhanded tactics by the two clubs and ended any interest in a player who is believed to not be totally set on moving to Old Trafford.
