Man United duo claim December awards

Cape Town - Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has claimed the Player of the Month award for December, while team-mate Henrikh Mkhitaryan has won the Goal of the Month gong.

The 35-year-old Ibrahimovic was in red-hot form in December, netting five goals and providing three assists in six Premier League appearances.

As such, the big Swede is now just one goal shy of the EPL's top scorer, Diego Costa, who has 14 to his name.

Mkhitaryan, meanwhile, scored what is bound to be a strong contender for Goal of the Season, after his "scorpion kick" against Sunderland on Boxing Day.

The Armenia international stunned supporters and television viewers alike after latching onto a cross from Ibrahimovic with an acrobatic piece of skill that will no doubt live long in the memory.
