Man City v Liverpool - Premier League run-in

Cape Town - Manchester City returned to the top of the Premier League table with a match to play following a dramatic 1-0 win at home to Leicester on Monday.

City captain Vincent Kompany's superb 25-yard strike (WATCH) some 20 minutes from time at the Etihad Stadium left Pep Guardiola's side a point ahead of Liverpool heading into Sunday's final round of league matches.

City will retain the title if their result away to Brighton is equal to or better than what Liverpool achieve against Wolves at Anfield.

But a win for Liverpool and anything less for City would see the Reds secure their maiden Premier League title.

Liverpool have not been crowned champions of England since they last won the old First Division championship in 1990.

The remaining Premier League fixtures for both teams:

Manchester City

May 12: Brighton (away)

Liverpool

May 12: Wolves (home)
