Cape Town - La Liga giants Real Madrid are reportedly preparing to make a £45 million offer plus Dani Ceballos in exchange for Tottenham's Christian Eriksen.
Real are known to have Eriksen high on their list of targets as they look to draft in midfield reinforcements this summer, but for one reason or another, have been unable to agree on a deal.
Eriksen has suggested he is keen to move on in search of a new challenge and Real would appeal, but Tottenham will not let him go unless the deal is right for them.
It is claimed that Spurs value the 27-year-old at £130 million, but Real are unwilling to go that high following a heavy outlay on new signings already this summer.
Instead, they will attempt to strike an agreement by offering £45 million in cash plus Ceballos in the hope that could be enough.
Ceballos is a top talent but has failed to live up to expectations at the Bernabeu and is keen to move on to pastures new, with Premier League clubs said to be in the hunt.
It now remains to be seen whether Spurs would accept or hold out for the full £130 million and reinvest in other targets.
