Liverpool to prosper in London!

Cape Town - One in seven... that’s the meagre tally of our forecasters envisaging a home victory when Chelsea entertain Liverpool in a novel Friday night Premiership tussle.

With some perhaps still harbouring clear thoughts of the Reds raiding Stamford Bridge for a 3-1 triumph last season – the winners’ goals coming from Messrs Coutinho (2) and Benteke - sentiment stays loaded against the Londoners bagging all three points, although four tipsters predict a draw.

The visitors come off that heartening 4-1 Anfield thumping of champions Leicester, whilst Chelsea had to scrap out a 2-2 outcome at Swansea.

A full house of us, perhaps predictably, see leaders Manchester City having little trouble retaining their 100 percent record when Bournemouth come to town on Saturday.

Each round of the 2016/17 Premiership campaign, a group of our staff has a crack at predicting the results – do the exercise yourself, if you like, and see how you compare afterwards.

Compiled by Rob Houwing (Newcastle-partial; he swears the Championship is more competitive), the others are Garrin Lambley (Everton), Lloyd Burnard, Tashreeq Vardien, Maano Nekhavhambe and Lynn Butler (all Man Utd) plus Craig Taylor (Liverpool).

Three points are awarded for an entirely correct scoreline, and one for right result.
