Liverpool set sights on Klavan - report

Cape Town - Liverpool have been one of the busiest Premier League clubs in the current transfer window, and are still looking to add FC Augsburg defender Ragnar Klavan to their squad, according Sky Sports.

The Reds have already acquired the services of Loris Karius, Marko Grujic, Sadio Mane and Joel Matip, but are in need of a defender as veteran Martin Skrtel has joined Fenerbahce and Mamadou Sakho is set to miss the start of the season due to an Achilles injury.

It is understood that Liverpool are prepared to pay £4.2m for Klavan, and the Liverpool Echo have reported that the 30-year-old will undergo a medical on Tuesday.

Klavan represented Augsburg in 40 games in all competitions last season, including their tie with Liverpool in the Europa League, which the Reds won 1-0 on aggregate to advance to the round of 16.
