Cape Town - Premier League giants Liverpool have brought down the ticket prices for their FA Cup Fourth Round replay against Shrewsbury Town at Anfield.
The Reds failed to hold onto a 2-0 lead on Sunday as the League One club clawed their way back into the encounter courtesy of substitute Jason Cummings, who netted twice to force on a replay which will be played on February 3.
The scheduled date for the match is during the Premier League's winter break which Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp now has confirmed that none of his first-team squad players including the coaching staff will take part in the replay due to the Premier League’s letter that was the club received.
"In April 2019 we got a letter from the Premier League, I think, where they asked us to respect the winter break, not to organise international friendlies or not to organise competitive games," said Klopp.
"And we respect that. I said to the boys two weeks ago, 'we will have a winter break'."
"It means we will not be there. It will be the kids who play that game."
Liverpool released a statement revealing that ticket prices have been dropped for the Shrewsbury replay tie and will charge £15 (R287) for adults, £5 (R96) for young adults and £1 (19) for children.
Tickets for games at Anfield are in high demand of late which sees matchday tickets sold between £9 and £60.
Meanwhile, Liverpool will shift their focus to the Premier League on Wednesday as they take on West Ham United.
