Kovacic turns down United move, not a fan of Mourinho's tactics

Cape Town - Real Madrid winger Mateo Kovacic has turned down the chance to sign for Manchester United because he doesn't like Jose Mourinho's tactics.

According to the Daily Mail, the Croatian is seeking to play regularly after frequently warming the bench for Los Blancos.

However, despite Mourinho's interest the midfielder, the 24-year-old will rather remain at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium than play under the Portuguese tactician.

The Red Devils were set to table an offer around £54m but were informed that the player is not interested in playing for Mourinho.

The report further states that Kovacic has no personal gripe with Mourinho but believes that he will not be able to flourish under the managers style of play.

Mourinho has been eager to add two more signings before the transfer window closes at the end of August.

United have already secured the services of Brazilian midfielder Fred for £55m, 19-year-old full-back Diogo Dalot (£19m), and Lee Grant (£1.5m).

Mourinho's charges start off the Premier League season on Friday, February 10 against Leicester City.
