Koeman: No transfer interest in Barkley

Cape Town - Everton manager Ronald Koeman has revealed that midfielder Ross Barkley is likely to stay at the club because there are no offers on the table for him.

Barkley was reportedly told he would be sold if he refused to sign a new deal at the club, with his current contract expiring in 12 months.

However, the Toffees boss has confirmed that there are no offers on the table for the Englishman and that he will probably see out the rest of his contract at Goodison Park.

"There is no offer on the table for Ross - that means he will stay at Everton," Koeman said, according to Sky Sports.

"The player has one year (left on his) contract and there is no offer. Maybe the club will not accept the offer (if and when it comes) because he is a good, young, English player.

"If somebody wants to buy Ross it's a big deal. If there is no interest then he will stay and be part of the team.

"I respect every personal ambition of every player. Still he is training with Everton, he is part of the team and training in a good way."
