Cape Town - Everton manager Ronald Koeman has praised club veterans Phil Jagielka and Leighton Baines as the pair celebrate a decade on Merseyside.
Both Englishman signed for the Toffees in 2007 and their 10-year stays was celebrated with an event at Goodison Park on Tuesday night.
Koeman believes Jagielka and Baines, who have racked up 355 and 387 appearances for the club respectively, remain important players for Everton moving forward.
When asked about working with the pair, the Dutchman told Everton TV: "It is really good. They are great people, really involved in Everton.
"Ten years is a long time, they have been really key players in the past... and will be in the future of Everton.
"Phil is the captain and Leighton is the second captain. They live for Everton and they play for Everton with all their heart. That is really important for the club."
