Klopp looks to add Valencia's Torres to Liverpool's ranks

Cape Town - Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp are reportedly hot on the heels of sought-after Valencia winger Ferran Torres who has been impressing in La Liga this season.

The right-winger was promoted to Valencia's first team in 2017 after working his way up through the youth ranks at the Mestalla.

Torres has made 14 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring one goal and creating one more for his team-mates.

And SportBild (via Sport Witness) claims that there is a three-way fight between Borussia Dortmund, Liverpool and Barcelona for the 19-year-old's signature.

The Reds are understood to be 'providing serious competition' for Dortmund in the race for Torres, who has a contract at Valencia until 2021.

With time ticking down on his current deal, and no extension in sight, SportBild claims that Valencia will be looking to strike a deal in the region of €20 million.

Torres would face a tough task to make it into Liverpool's forward line if he did move with Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane blocking his path into the starting XI.

Meanwhile, Liverpool came out victorious against Arsenal in a midweek Carabao fourth round tie on Wednesday evening.

The Reds will now travel to Aston Villa for the quarter-finals with the dates and kick-off times to be revealed in due course.
