Ki unconcerned by Swansea struggles

Swansea - South Korea international midfielder Ki Sung-yueng insists he and his Swansea City team-mates are confident they can turn around their season despite languishing in the relegation zone.

The Swans drew 0-0 at home to West Ham on Sunday, leaving them 18th in the 20-team Premier League table and two points from safety.

They have also won just once in 13 matches but Ki insists the players are not fretting.

"You saw in the last two games we played well, we have performed better," said Ki.

"Players have confidence so we are not worried about the situation.

"Of course, the fans may worry but we believe in each other and know there's quality in the team.

"Personally, I am very angry with myself that we are 18th. It is not for us and it is a difficult feeling.

"If the team is not good enough we accept it but we have really good players, we did so well last season."

Garry Monk was sacked as Swansea manager on December 9 and the Swans have been led by caretaker boss Alan Curtis ever since as chairman Huw Jenkins continues to search for a new permanent appointment.
