Cape Town - Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga has welcomed the possibility of making a return to former club Athletic Bilbao at some point in his career.
Spain international Kepa came through the youth set-up with Bilbao before completing his reported €80million move to Chelsea during the summer of 2018 – a transfer fee that made him the most expensive goalkeeper of all-time.
The 25-year-old has made 44 Premier League appearances during his time with Chelsea and he seemingly has no plans to leave the club anytime soon, with his current contract at Stamford Bridge not set to expire until the summer of 2025.
However, the former Valladolid loanee has not ruled out a return to hometown club Bilbao later in his career, admitting he will always have a great affinity with the team where he started his career.
Speaking to El Chiringuito TV, Kepa said: "Of course I would like to return to Athletic.
"I don't know when or how or what but playing at Athletic obviously I'd like that. I have great memories."
Kepa is currently away with Spain on international duty and he will be hopeful of adding to his seven caps when La Roja face Norway and Sweden in potentially crucial Euro 2020 qualifiers over the coming days.
