Cape Town - Middlesbrough head coach Aitor Karanka is excited about the potential of new signing Vikor Fischer, who recently joined the newly promoted side from Ajax Amsterdam.
Fischer was once a transfer target for Manchester United after bursting onto the European football scene as a teenager, but injuries and a lack of form stalled his progress in the Eredivisie.
However, Karanka still feels his potential can be fulfilled once he settles into the club and team's philosophy ahead of the Premier League season.
"Viktor's a quality player who's played a few games in the Champions League," he told reporters. "He's young but experienced. He's quality.
"It was difficult for him at Doncaster as he has just been training with us for one week and it's a new team, new team-mates and a new environment.
"For that reason, he has to keep going and go to Marbella to keep improving and to be together. He's settled well, it's easier for everyone when you arrive in a changing room like we have."
The 22-year-old Denmark international winger scored 33 goals and registered 19 assists in 111 games for de Godenzonen.
