Kante bullish on Chelsea title chances

Cape Town - Chelsea midfielder N'Golo Kante insists the Blues still have a chance to catch up to Premier League leaders Manchester City.

City are still unbeaten this campaign and have opened up an eight-point lead over second-placed Manchester United. Chelsea are 11 points adrift of Pep Guardiola's men, but Kante is determined to close the gap.

The defending Premier League champions have hit a purple patch over recent weeks, winning five of their last six league games, and Kante believes if they continue in that vein they have a chance of catching City.

“The big teams are up there," the Frenchman told the club's official website.

“Manchester City are well ahead, but the other teams are battling.

“The league is long and a lot can happen. We have to take it match by match, and we have to be ready to win because it’s not finished.”

The Blues face Newcastle United on Saturday morning, before City take on West Ham later in the day.

Kick off is at 14:30.
