Jurgen Klopp responds to 10-year-old Man United fan's letter

Cape Town - Jurgen Klopp responded personally to a hilarious letter sent by a 10-year-old Manchester United fan requesting if it were possible that Liverpool start losing games as they are winning too many.

Daragh Curley wrote to the Liverpool manager as part of a school assignment and made a desperate bid to stop the Reds winning the title.

To his surprise the German responded personally in a signed letter explaining that he could not force his team to throw games even if wanted to.

In the letter Curley wrote: "Liverpool are winning too many games. If you win nine more games then you have the best unbeaten run in English football. Being a United fan that is very sad.

"So the next time Liverpool play, please make them lose. You should just let the other team score. I hope I have convinced you to not win the league or any other match ever again."

Klopp responded by praising the youngster's passion for football but that it was his job to give Liverpool the best chance at winning games as he didn't want to disappoint the club's millions of supporters.

"Unfortunately, on this occasion I cannot grant your request, not through choice anyway," Klopp said.

"As much as you want Liverpool to lose it is my job to do everything that I can to help Liverpool to win as there are millions of people around the world who want that to happen, so I really do not want to let them down."
