Iwobi: It's a dream come true

Cape Town - Alex Iwobi admits he is living the dream at the moment after he once again impressed during Arsenal's victory over Watford in the English Premier League.

The Nigerian teenager scored his second league goal in only his second start while he also assisted Alexis Sanchez' opener in the Gunners' 4-0 victory at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.

Iwobi now appears to be ahead of the likes of Theo Walcott and Joel Campbell in the pecking order and he is delighted with his progress.

"It’s crazy, a mad feeling," he told BBC Sport. "Happy for the team, glad we won. It's all for the team and I'm glad we've got the three points.

"When you're young you dream of this and this is like a dream come true, winning with this team."

The win over Watford keeps Arsenal's slim title hopes alive as they are now eight points behind league leaders Leicester City with seven games still to go.

Iwobi added: "Winning the title would be amazing but we're taking each game as it comes, game by game, and we'll see where we end up come the end of the season."

Meanwhile, manager Arsene Wenger continues to be impressed by Iwobi, who has now started seven Premier League games this campaign.

"We have values in our club that are maybe not always rated. But one of the values we have at our club is to give young players the chance and to educate them," the Frenchman said.

"Every year we bring players out, and not many clubs can say that. And I'm happy that Iwobi is one of them, he arrived here at seven or eight years old. He is completely integrated in the way we want to play football."

Another player who received praise from the manager was January signing Mohamed Elneny as the Egyptian has brought some stability to Arsenal's midfield.

"He has brought something to the team," Wenger said.

"He is a very intelligent player, and as well very mobile and works very hard for the team. He gives us tactical stability.

"Today with Coquelin they have made a very good pair in winning the ball and in the distribution as well."
