English Premiership flutter (File)

Cape Town - The journey ends here: Chelsea will beat mid-table West Brom away on Friday night to secure the Premiership spoils for 2016/17.

That is the unanimous view of the Sport24 forecasters as the hours tick down to the showdown at the Hawthorns.

The Blues enter the clash fuelled by pretty good memories of their corresponding visit last season, when they prevailed 3-2 despite veteran John Terry getting red-carded early in the second half.

Each round of the 2016/17 Premiership campaign, a group of our staff has a crack at predicting the results - do the exercise yourself, if you like, and see how you compare afterwards.

Compiled by Rob Houwing (Newcastle ... back where they belong, he says), the others are Garrin Lambley (Everton), Lloyd Burnard, Tashreeq Vardien, Maano Nekhavhambe and Lynn Butler (all Man Utd) plus Craig Taylor (Liverpool).

Three points are awarded for an entirely correct scoreline, and one for right result.
