Cape Town - Inter Milan sporting director Piero Ausilio says reports that the club are lining up a bid for Diego Costa are "absurd."
The Chelsea striker was rumoured to be on his way out of the Premier League club following a lean 2015/16 season where a number of players massively underperformed, leading to Jose Mourinho's exit.
Certain sections of the media had him returning to his former club Atletico Madrid, with Inter the latest club to be linked.
But the 28-year-old is a man reborn this season, and has found the net 10 times in 13 Premier League matches.
Speaking to Premium Sport, Ausilio emphatically denied the rumours.
He said: "To talk about this is absurd, we already have a very strong centre-forward.
“We will try to evaluate the positions we feel need strengthening.”
