Inter in talks with Man United's Young

Cape Town - Inter Milan are reportedly in talks with Manchester United veteran Ashley Young over a possible transfer to the Serie A giants.

According to Sky Sports News, the 34-year-old has six-months left on his current Red Devils contract and may want to jump ship before the end of the season.

United have so far experienced a roller coaster campaign and losing Young's experience could mean Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would need to further bolster his squad if the winger departs for Italy in January.

"I don't know what you're talking about - you'll have to ask Ash (Ashley)," Solskjaer said after United suffered a 3-1 defeat against Manchester City on Tuesday evening in the Carabao Cup first-leg at Old Trafford.

"We've got a few months left of this season. We can't weaken ourselves; we need to strengthen ourselves, if any movement if going to happen."

Young would be the third player from United to join Inter if he were to switch allegiance following Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez's departure at the start of the season.

Meanwhile, United are back in action this weekend at home to Norwich City.

Kick-off is at 17:00 (SA time) on Saturday.
