Inter boss Conte keen on United midfielder Matic

Cape Town - Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic is attracting interest from Inter Milan, with the Serbian set to enter the final six months of his contract in January.

Inter have got the new season off to a flyer, having won all six of their opening Serie A games to sit at the top of the table, two points ahead of Juventus.

New boss Antonio Conte has already begun to work his magic, and the signings he has brought in since his arrival look to be doing the trick for now at least.

However, that is not stopping him from having one eye on the future and reports are rife suggesting that Matic is high on his list of future targets.

The Serbia international midfielder is out of contract at the end of the season, and, as things stand, he will not be signing a new one.

The 32-year-old is struggling for game time at Old Trafford and he does not look to be in the plans of Reds boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer moving forward.

Inter could now offer him a route as Conte knows the player well from his time at Chelsea when they won the Premier League title together in the 2016-17 campaign.

A reunion could now be on the cards as it is thought that Matic would also jump at the chance of a move to the San Siro.

Matic will be free to talk to European clubs from January with a view to lining up a Bosman move for the summer.

There is also the possibility that Inter could try and negotiate a deal with United that would see him complete a move in the winter window.
