Cape Town - West Ham United manager Manuel Pellegrini has revealed midfielder Jack Wilshere has once again suffered an injury blow with an ankle concern.
The player has been blighted with injuries throughout his career and has seemingly never been able to realise his full potential for both club and country.
The playmaker was hailed as one of the most talented English players in the game during his days at Arsenal, however, a succession of injuries have halted his progress.
The 26-year-old moved to West Ham in July after 10 years with the Gunners but has so far only made three appearances in 2018/19.
Wilshere missed out on Tuesday's Premier League 3-1 victory over Cardiff City due to his ankle injury.
Pellegrini said: "Jack has a small pain in his ankle, not the one he injured before."
Meanwhile, striker Marko Arnautovic is also a doubt for United's next game against Crystal Palace on Saturday.
The striker suffered a hamstring injury against Cardiff and he was replaced by Lucas Perez, who scored a brace in the comfortable win.
The Chilean concluded: "We cannot know about Marko at this moment. We must wait until tomorrow to see the medical examination and then we'll know what it is."
