Injuries force Solskjaer to reshuffle for City crunch clash

Cape Town - Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been forced to reshuffle his pack for Wednesday's crunch clash with Manchester City after losing Phil Jones to injury.

Jones was forced off through injury during the disastrous 4-0 loss at Everton on Sunday and the derby clash at Old Trafford this evening comes too soon for him.

There is better news concerning Ander Herrera, who is expected to be available after four weeks out with a thigh injury, while Luke Shaw also returns from suspension.

Following the humiliation at Goodison Park, boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could make a host of changes, but is demanding a reaction whatever side he puts out.

The Norwegian is also adamant that he is still the man to take United forward.

"I would like to say yes but it is not down to me to say that," Solskjaer said. "Of course, I am confident in my team and myself.

"I am ready to take this challenge on. I know it is a big challenge. That is why I came. I don't like losing but it is a great challenge.

"But when you have bad results you have to be confident enough to say this is the way we are going to do it."

Kick-off is at 21:00 (SA times).

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
