Injured Lacazette set for Arsenal absence

London - Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette faces a spell on the sidelines after injuring his groin during his side's 5-0 win over Huddersfield Town on Wednesday.

The Frenchman put Arsenal ahead in the third minute at the Emirates Stadium, but did not return for the second half, with Olivier Giroud taking his place.

"It looked like a groin injury so he might be out for a while," Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger said after the match, which kept the north London club in fourth place in the Premier League table.

The France international, 26, has scored seven goals for Arsenal since signing from Lyon in July in a club-record £46.5 million move.

Lacazette will miss the Premier League clash against the Gunners' arch-rivals Manchester United as they welcome Jose Mourinho's side to the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.

Kick off is at 19:30.
