Iheanacho pleased with debut season

Cape Town - Manchester City forward Kelechi Iheanacho admits his meteoric rise within the English Premiership is hard to comprehend.

His record in his debut campaign is nothing short of remarkable - the 19-year-old has scored a 13 goals and contributed 7 assists in 35 games, although most of his appearances have coming from the substitutes bench.

Ihanacho's peformances for Manuel Pellegrini's side saw him earn international recognition, breaking into the most recent Super Eagles squad - a far cry from the 16-year-old who starred for Nigeria in their under-17 World Cup campaign in 2013.

"Whatever happens now it has been a great season for me. I couldn't have imagined what has happened so far so I'm really happy,” the former Taye Academy forward told the Daily Mail.

"So much has happened in the last few years it is difficult to take in. If you start thinking about being here one moment and there the next, your brain would get overload and your head would be spinning so it's best not to think about it too much."

"The other lads are always talking to me, offering advice and helping me - whether in training or in games - and I listen to everything they say," he added.
