Cape Town - Huddersfield Town manager David Wagner is having a dream start to life in the Premier League following Sunday’s 1-0 win over Newcastle United.
Australian No.10 Aaron Mooy struck soon after the restart to hand the Terriers their second win in as many top-flight games, and the German coach wanted to remind everyone that this is just the latest chapter in their story.
"We are Huddersfield Town, nobody must forget that," he said. "We got promoted via Wembley, we started this season with two wins, two clean sheets with six points, this is unbelievable.
"This is something where everybody had to invest in so much, and they have done it. So I am very happy for them as these were not lucky points which we have on the board already and we deserve the points.
"And I am delighted today with the result and performance. This was a great day for us today, the first Premier League home game in the club's history, a win and a clean sheet, so I am delighted."
The Terriers are now second in the Premier League standings, behind Manchester United on goal difference, after beating Crystal Palace 3-0 in their first match.
"This was a more deserved result for us today than last week, in my opinion, where we were lucky in a lot of situations," Wagner added.
"We gave too many chances away with the defence, but today we were very strong on the defence.
"We knew that Newcastle were difficult to break down, we had to be patient and were and then we had one great and magic moment from Aaron Mooy that was enough to win this game.
"I am very happy and proud that the players really followed our idea to try and keep Newcastle as far away as possible from our goal. To try and go in their face and press them high.
"And I am delighted today with the result and performance. This was a great day for us today, the first Premier League home game in the club's history, a win and a clean sheet, so I am delighted."
