Howe bullish ahead of Bournemouth's trip to Anfield

Cape Town - Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe says Saturday's trip to Liverpool offers the Cherries the chance to add yet more Premier League history to the club.

The Reds have slipped down to second in the league after successive 1-1 draws but will be confident of getting back to winning ways on Merseyside, having not lost a league game on home soil since April 2017.

Bournemouth are yet to win at Anfield in four attempts and while they have lost their last eight away matches in all competitions, the most recent being a 2-0 defeat to relegation-threatened Cardiff City.

Despite everything appearing to be against the Cherries, Howe is adamant his side can rise to the challenge and put another dent in Liverpool‘s title hopes.

The Bournemouth menotor said: "These things have always faced us before. In the Premier League every game was rewriting history and proving we could do things for the first time.

"I think we tend to look at these things as a nice thing to do, try and write new history for the club. Winning at Anfield is something we would love to do.

"No team has done it for a long time in the Premier League, which shows you just how good Liverpool have been."
