Hazard happy to put pressure on Spurs

Cape Town - Chelsea winger Eden Hazard is clearly thinking of the title race after helping his team pick up maximum points against Southampton on Tuesday.

The Blues produced a solid display to win 4-2 at Stamford Bridge, with the Belgian opening the scoring, and increase their lead over second-placed Tottenham to seven points.

"It's always good to score and create lots of chances," Hazard told reporters. "We scored four beautiful goals. If my goals help to win games then that's good."

Spurs can return to within four points of the league leaders when they face Crystal Palace on Wednesday, but Hazard will be happy to watch them play catch up with three points safe in the bag.

"It's always good to play before and put pressure on them," he added. "I hope they have trouble.

"We will see tomorrow. We can stay at home tomorrow to watch the game and we will see. I want to take the trophy at the end of the season."

Meanwhile Mauricio Pochettino wants his Tottenham stars to ignore speculation over their futures and focus on making a final push to win the Premier League.

Pochettino's side face a critical week in the title race as they try to close the four-point gap on leaders Chelsea just days after suffering a painful FA Cup semi-final loss against their London rivals.
