English Premiership

Gunners v Citizens needs a winner!

English Premiership flutter (File)

Cape Town - Expect both teams to really “go for it” when Arsenal host Manchester City in an attractive Sunday fixture in the English Premiership.

Certainly a stalemate would be of little value to both, given City’s fading quest from fourth to haul in cruising leaders Chelsea (they are 12 points behind), and the Gunners’ own wobbling hopes of cracking the Champions League zone for next season - they are currently sixth.

All of that said, four of our seven pundits see an unproductive draw being the outcome, doing little to quell the restlessness of both sets of fans.

Each round of the 2016/17 Premiership campaign, a group of our staff has a crack at predicting the results - do the exercise yourself, if you like, and see how you compare afterwards.

Compiled by Rob Houwing (Newcastle-partial; he swears the Championship is more competitive), the others are Garrin Lambley (Everton), Lloyd Burnard, Tashreeq Vardien, Maano Nekhavhambe and Lynn Butler (all Man Utd) plus Craig Taylor (Liverpool).

Three points are awarded for an entirely correct scoreline, and one for right result.
